“Great place, in the worlds sleepiest city.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

If you are going to Amsterdam, and you want to stay in a boutique hotel, this is it. We loved the place the staff is over the top, with there service and there attention to your needs.

Now, Amsterdam is not a lot of bang for your buck. It's a sleepy city, with not much to do but people watch. If you are not visiting the so called Coffee shops, then I would go somewhere different.

The Dylan is well located and the staff are excellent. The hotel is well appointed with a nice bar and nice decor. We were able to walk to almost everything. What really makes this place is the staff. They are all friendly and professional. The only drawback is that some of the bathrooms do not have a walk in shower (is a soaking tub that you must shower in - not so easy to get in and out of and good luck getting the water on without a good soaking). So, I would totally recommend the hotel, just be sure to request a bathroom with a separate shower!

This is the third time we've stayed at the Dylan, and it won't be the last.
The hotel is charming - great location - easy to walk everywhere and its just a stones throw from the lovely boutique shopping area and yet close enough to walk to the more hustle and bustle parts of the city too. The historical building is wonderful.
We had a canal view suite - and was spacious and airy. We had breakfast in the room, which was excellent.
The additions of the new coffee machines and complimentary high speed wi-fi were great.
The staff are friendly and welcoming - and the hotel bar has a convivial feel to it.
We enjoyed a superb meal at Vinkeles during our stay which was incredible.
All in all, another wonderful experience - a very welcoming place with a great atmosphere - utterly professional but without any stuffiness. Hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: Canal suites are superb - light and airy with wonderful views.

A lovely hotel in an old historical building. The room is a bit small though and bathroom is not particularly comfotable either. The hotel has its charm indeed. Good service, great location. Vinkeles restaurand is just outstanding and selection of wines if perfect too..Vinkeles is definitely the place to come back to. A bartender in a downstairs bar is quite creative - his daikiri based on spiced rum was awesome.

We loved our stay at this charming boutique hotel. Location is fantastic - right on the Keizersgracht canal near the "hip" Jordan area. Wonderful service. Historic old building. We had breakfast included without room and the food was great. Also had dinner in their gourmet restaurant Vinkeles - incredible meal. We would definitely stay here again when returning to Amsterdam.

I love this location, so that's a good start. The staff were attentive. It is a lovely hotel building, but I didn't eat here. Really nice room with some very good touches - robes, iPhone speakers, etc. tiny loo though.

I was very happy with this hotel. It is boutique, with old narrow stairs and a clunky lift, but at the same time very polished and comfortable. I loved the fireplace and the courtyard downstairs and the exposed wooden beams and general dark decor of the rooms.

The great shower, bed, coffee machine and windows you can open made it very homely. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food delicious.

I have soft spot for Amsterdam, but this hotel was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. I loved it and would definitely stay here again.
