Having been to many hotels I expected a lot from this hotel. But it was not what I expected. Staff is not more service minded than a 4 star hotel in town. And I missed eye for detail in the room. Little things like a loose curtain, dust in the vent and items on the bathroom upside down are small examples. The health club is great. Did not try the brasserie or the afternoon tea since it was fully booked.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights from the 7th March till the 10th March using my priority points, I must say this hotel is outstanding, from checking in on the Thursday and checking out on the Sunday every single member of staff couldn't have been anymore helpful.
The hotel it's self is very clean, it's position on the river is fantastic with great views from the bar and restaurant.
The rooms are very spacey and have everything you require for your stay.
I have read on here from other people's reviews that the hotel is outdated and old fashioned, it's all part of the hotel character,
The health suit is spotless and everything you need, gym, sauna, steam room, rain shower, ice bath, jacuzzi, swimming pool, beds by the pool, tea, coffee and nibbles.
We had breakfast in the hotel which is pricey at €35 each but you get plenty of choice and its the going rate at a top hotel across Europe.
The hotel is a 15 to 20 minute walk to Dam square which really is ideal, we didn't want to stay to central because I wasn't sure how busy and loud Amsterdam is with it being our first visit.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a excellent hotel in Amsterdam!!!!!

with a room overlooking the canal, you can realy feel good in this hotel. Service of the highest standard from you step out of the car in front of the hotel until you walk out the door. Central location with walking distance to several nice cafees and restaurantes. You can also eat in the hotel where the menu and the vinelist both are very good.

Room Tip: book a room overlooking the canal

Booked this hotel on the back of its reviews. Our 3 night stay was ok but I expected a better level of service, from the concierge to the check-in/out staff to the level of service we recieved when attempting to order a coffee.
The room we had was a junior suite and I had booked it to accomodate my daughter but no bed was set up for her, not sure where they expected her to sleep? The room was a good size with a comfortable bed, but laminate flooring....not sure why? I have perhaps been spoilt by other hotels of this class but no room goodies...no bottle of water, no chocolates on turn down, no fruit, nothing. We did not have breakfast included but ate at a fabulous cafe/restaurant De Ysbreeker, which was a 2 minute walk away. Overall the stay was Ok but the hotel was not value for money and I would choose another hotel in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Book a room away from the lifts.

I used points to arrange a weekend stay for my wife and our niece and partner. As an ambassador got the 2 rooms upgraded to river view rooms, arrived late after a day in Antwerp and snowy conditions in holland. Quick check in and down for drinks and food. Next day off to explore Amsterdam with map sorry maps (private joke). Back in hotel and down to pool and sauna to relax before heading off to Dutch restaurant as recommended by staff. Great meal. Overall the hotel is one of the best that we have ever stayed in. All staff we had any contact with were very helpful and very pleasant, I would like to thank the hotel for making this special weekend as enjoyable as it was and hope to return soon to experience this great hotel soon

Staff was friendly. Rooms were beautiful. Beds were comfy but I wish there were more pillows. Decor was classy. Room service was okay. The only thing I disliked was controlling the temperature if the water when taking a bath. Overall, it's clean and I would return.

We have been in this hotel for 2 nights.
The price is expensive, but it worthy.. The location is quite central and very quite.. We had a quiet room on the riverside; the view on the canal was very pleasant!.
We had a small suprise; nobody told us the parking service was paid but a night clerck (a black gentelman who was very helpfull) made a discount and we were all satisfied!
The breakfast was also very nice; in the breakfast saloon you feel yourself in a romantic boat..
