“Charming neighborhood”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

The Prinsengracht canal is in beautiful, upscale neighborhood with many historical sites. Lovely houses, houseboats on the canal, and side streets to walk through. Great location for interesting restaurants, too.

“Toy Town”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

My "rough" expectations of Amsterdam diminished when I got there. The city is lined with many canals which reminded me of something out of a story book. Noddy or something. It is really quite pretty- oh and EVERYONE rides bikes. I love that about Amsterdam.

“An interesting walk”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

A canal walk that takes you from one end of the city round to the other. Go through different areas and see a variety of building styles. Always interesting with something to see.

“One of Amsterdam's 17th century canals”
Reviewed November 29, 2013 via mobile

Prinsengracht (named after the Prince of Orange) is one the main canals that ring the centre of this beautiful city. The houses, originally home to wealthy merchants are of typical architectural style and the frontages are particularly picturesque. There are a number of notable tourist attractions on the canal banks, including the Anne Frank House, Gay Monument and the impressive Westerkerk, which dominates the local landscape. Prinsengracht is ideal for a pleasant stroll through old Amsterdam, but watch out for the bikes!

“Gorgeous!”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

We had a beautiful walk along the canal on an early Sunday morning in November. So quiet, really a great way to experience Amsterdam on our first day there.
