“Quirky and lots to do”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

What a great canal. It seems crammed with lovely little restaurats, pubs, and even a couple of "coffee" shops. There are also art galleries, smaller shops, ordinary people eating their dinner, canal boats going by, delightful house boats. It's great!

“A Beautiful Area of Amsterdam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

We were lucky enough to stay in a hotel located on this canal and it was perfect. The neighborhood had so much to offer. It is very centrally located, but yet not too close to Dam Square or the Red Light District. I would highly recommend visiting those areas but not necessarily locating your hotel near those attractions. The Prinsengracht canal, its bridges and the streets & parkways paved with bricks, were fairytale-like! There are great restaurants & bars with lovely seating areas along the canal and shops to enjoy throughout this area. Just remember, as you enjoy this beautiful area, always keep a look out for bikes, cars, motorcycles, open stairwells on the sidewalk, etc., etc., etc. One must always keep alert when in this area on a beautiful summer day when everyone heads to this area! Enjoy!!

“Love the updated road work!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

I know the locals have to tolerate the road repairs however this traveling couple found it manageable! We understand it is important for the lovely local businesses to be accessable and since my husband is completely blind the maintenance workers were very helpful. This is our favorite Canal and brick road area!

“Rent a bike and be happy!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

Best way to know it would be by renting a bike and cycling during a entire morning. If you do that early in the morning (around 9) you will probably face less "packed" streets.

One of the prettiest place I've ever seen in my life. Just go and walk along it while enjoying the view! Gotta love Amsterdam!
