Despite numerous visits to Amsterdam I had never been here before
It is a really interesting experience, a small space that tells the history and changing fortunes of faith in the city
It is worth giving yourself time to look at every floor as each has something interesting to show and tell

Interesting insight into Amsterdam history with amazing surprise on the top floors which are a bit of a climb. There are lots of stairs because you have to go way downstairs to begin and then up and then down again to return to obligatory Audioguides which we don't like using!

If you want to learn about a whole range of Amsterdam related historical facts then this museum must be visited. There is the basic premise of the 'church in the attic', but you have the history of the merchant owners, their lifestyle, the preserved nature of the architecture. Worth a visit. Not just a quick in and out.

The first part of the tour takes you through room settings to show what the houses were like historically. Then there's a hidden church at the top.
Well worth visiting.

An unexpectedly moving and engaging visit, building up as you pass through the many floors of the house to the amazing church in the attic. It also gives a great sense of what old canalised houses were like in the past.
