Amazing place very well preserved

Gives you a good idea on how was life 200years ago in this town, the religion...
All with a great, included in the price, audio guide very well documented and userfriendly (unlike most audioguides)

“Absolutely amazing....”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

With a bit of a climb up those Amsterdam stairs one can take in and contemplate a bit of Reformation history and begin to comprehend what it is like to not be permitted to practice one's religion freely. Well kept and lovingly restored this bit of Dutch history is worth the time and effort to find....a lovely neighborhood and a beautiful old building.

“Interesting walkthrough”

Impressive the lengths people went to, to have a place to worship. Very well maintained exhibition with audio guide. Worth a look if you have some spare time.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

This church is a bit hidden away but located in the heart of the city near the Red Light District. Well worth a visit, tells you something about Amsterdam's rich and diverse history. Unique church - literally in the attic.

“Second visit - still enchanting”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

We went back to see the completion of restoration that was underway on our last visit. This tiny space - only 4 seats wide is a testament to the determination of a people to worship freely. Audio tour in a variety of languages make self guiding very easy. Entry is very small so be on the lookout. Steep narrow winding stairs may be a problem for mobility impaired.
