The Jordaan is the best part of Central Amsterdam. While most visitors spent there time in and around Dam Square, Red Light District, etc I felt as if I had this place between myself and the locals. You do not need a map, just wonder the streets, visit the small cafes and eat in the local restaurants. The architecture is what you would expect but with the never ending canals, bridges and small, quaint side streets it is a wonderful area.
