Like most stations they have trains! But the Dutch do it better. The screens tell you the destination ie Schiphol and what platform. 15a and 15b are just different ends of same platform so just use central entrance to your platform and then go left to b or right to a. All clearly signed with bright digital signs by escalators.

Harassed by train conductor on May 27, 2018, 8pm. We toke the train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station. We have much difficulties buying train ticket using American credit card at the airport ticket machines. Finally we went to ticket booth. The man toke our credit card and give us tickets, never asked us first or second class. We always go first class. We went down stairs and wait. A lady in uniform told us to moved up. We boarded the nearest car with our heavy luggages climbing the big steps. Sat down on this empty car, but not in the enclosed section which we assume it's first class. We never saw the outside car painting of "1". This male middle age white conductor with American English proceeded to lectured us for over half hour. He hid in the empty car. He argued our intention to cheated Amsterdam. German trains are better because they only keep few rows of First class seats. Dutch keeps entire empty car as first class to harass tourists - insane. Official must investigate this conductor behavior.

I've been to Amsterdam Centraal before but this time I needed to go international. I booked a ticket to Germany online. I took the print out to the international desk where there is a self check-in kiosk. The staff was very helpful and had no problems getting to the right places. Staff at AC is everywhere.

Centraal Station is truly where everything converges -- the trams, the ferries, and the tourism offices. Many shops and food stalls are in the station, and if you have time to spare before your tram or ferry, there's plenty to do to pass the time. All the canal tours have stops at Centraal Station, and it's an easy place from which to begin any tour. It's so close to many of the major sights in the city, also, which is a bonus for the tired tourist: it's easy to get on a tram back to wherever you're staying if you're too tired to walk at the end of a busy day.
