“Comfort & Style in the best part of Amsterdam”

Fantastic location on the west side of the Damrak, the Canal House is close enough to the train station (10 mins walk) and the Damrak (5 mins walk) but far enough away from the busy tourist traps of the Red Light area and Flower Market.

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a lovely bar in which to enjoy a pre dinner drink. Breakfast is plentiful and the rooms were spacious and of good quality given the complexity of fitting so much into what is a traditional canal side building.

21st March - We knew check-in was 3pm, but the hotel advised that we could store luggage if we arrived earlier. We arrived at noon and were happily advised that our room was ready, so we checked in by very friendly staff. The hotel, although central, is in a quiet location. Our room, in the basement was huge and was once the original kitchen with a few items from that time. The house has many original features which have successfully blended with modern decor. We had a superking bed and a well stocked modern bathroom. It makes for a tremendously unique hotel. Breakfast, included, is a buffet affair with many options and hot food provided as an extra. The staff are very obliging, helpful, warm and friendly. We are definitely returning.

We stayed here for 3 nights, all the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Booking restaurant for us were no problem. They even got us breakfast on our last after time when we mentioned on checking out that we had not relized it was complementary so had not taken advantage of that service.

Lovely location - picturesque and quiet . We booked in for a 2 night stay between Christmas and NY On arrival we had a very warm welcome with a small ginger cleansing drink and a cool flannel to refresh ourselves . The service for our stay could not be faulted the staff were friendly and attentive . The public areas of the hotel were well decorated with pictures and mirrors and as it was Christmas they looked particularly stunning with Christmas trees , wreaths and twinkle lights
Our room was located on the ground floor next to the kitchen which we had to walk through and it often smelt of sewage so that was not so good !! THe room itself was lovely and luxurious and cannot fault it . If we had paid another 100 quid a night might have had a room with a view !!
The breakfast was good but not alot of options and you had to pay for anything hot which considering the price of a room was abit annoying
Overall the we had a lovely time but you are paying alot for the style of the place and well for nearly 500 pounds for 2 nights I wanted perfection or at least a hot breakfast .

Room Tip: You get what you pay for . The more expensive the better the room . We paid for a better room but h...
