The Van Gogh Museum is a delightful way to truly experience the tragic life and art of Vincent Van Gogh. Do book your ticket online before you get there, especially in the summer when the crowds are bigger than other times of the year. The museum is small enough where you can pace yourself to experience as much or as little of this life and art as you desire. You are able to get very close to the art so you can really experience the depth of the brush strokes in his larger paintings. It was mesmerizing. Do get the headsets as the insights shared are very important to truly appreciating his art and his life experience. Although the museum had posted everywhere not to photograph the art, many very disrespectful travelers were taking pictures and selfies in front of the art. It was horrifying! Also note the museum has a lovely restaurant tucked away on the upper floor. If you get hungry you can stop, re-charge and go on with your exploration of the museum.

This is a massive museum and it will take your breath away with the amazing collection. Once you are inside it will be like traveling in time and learn about Van Gogh's life, the paintings are amazing. An advice is that you must buy the ticket online months in advance so don't leave it until last minute. There is security everywhere so don't try taking pictures as it is not permitted, instead you can get a nice souvenir in the museum shop. This museum is great for children!.

This was a bit congested at times. I thought the staff could give you a bit more help with use of the audio guide and where to go and the cloakroom queues were a bit chaotic but we thoroughly enjoyed this visit. I’d highly recommend the audio guide as you wander around the paintings

There is not much to say other than that a visit to Amsterdam without visiting the museum would be like eating food without salt. It gives taste to the city. Multimedia guide is recommended.
