“Great exhibition”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

This museum is a memorable one. Visited twice (once in 2009 and once now in August 2014) and still worth visiting. The entrance to the museum is 15 euro. Make sure you take some time to visit the museum for two reasons: the museum is extended on 3 floors with lot of great and well known paintings to see and there is a line in front (at least in the morning and before lunch) that can take around 1:00 - 1:30.

An outstanding collection of Van Gogh's work. Very well presented.
Make sure you book well in advance online to avoid the horrendous queues.

“Well worth the wait”

Expect crowds and take your time to visit this 4 floor museum dedicated to Van Gogh and his contemporaries. The Audio guide provides excellent background. Bring your own earphones and a splitter to share the guide with a friend. Check your bags at the free coat check.

“Great exhibition layout mixing art and history”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

The museum does a great job of keeping exhibit goers interested in both the art, the progression of the artist and affiliated painters, and the history of Van Gogh and his unique place in history. Most art museums eventually given in to temptation and lazily just display art and artifacts with gross summaries of various time periods. I thought the exhibits, especially covering Van Gogh's later years, did a great job of explaining not only the techniques he was working with but explaining why there were occasional fluctuations in his approach as his personal life and probably his mental capacity began to degrade. It was thoroughly engaging and yea compact enough that it made it's point without feeling overwhelming.

For anyone in town, it can't hurt to snag some tickets online a few days before hand. We bought ours at the gate and had to wait about 45 mins in line. The lines move pretty fast but better safe than sorry. You won't want to miss this museum!!
