If you come to Amsterdam a must see! We really enjoyed the paintings and the stories behind. Prebook the tickets.

It's a great place to know more about Van Gogh; not just his works but his life and the influences he got during his lifetime. Each floor is dedicated to certain aspect of his life;in first floor you can see his early works and early influence he received and as you progress to the next floor, the changes in his works become apparent.

Even if you're lukewarm about van Gogh, you don't want to miss this collection. It's wonderfully displayed with a lot of interesting commentary. Note: they are very strict about their no photography policy.

SO MUCH I didn't know about Van Gogh! Of course great to see so much work in one place, but the videos and other information about him was fascinating.

Timed slots to keep it from overcrowding but it still feels busy. We had a great experience and throughly enjoyed it.

The paintings are extraordinary. A really nice environment and plenty to look at. It appears to be constantly changing so I would definitely re-visit!

We hear so much about van Gogh. A visit to the van Gogh while in Amsterdam is a must. Little else to say really. The art works are fantastic and nicely spaced out within the museum so there is plenty of room to see them without straining. The building is modern light and very comfortable. For a bit of fun there is a "selfie wall" (see my attached photo!)
When you need to take a refreshment break there is a lovely restaurant which is reasonably priced and offers quick snacks hot and cold drinks and if required hot food. The location is nicely set in the park and close to other great attractions within the museum quarter. Easy to find. Allow a few hours to take in all the artwork and exhibits. A marvellous experience.

The first thing you notice as you approach this lovely museum is the modern architecture, its glassy and metal exterior swirling and shimmering in the soft autumn light of Amsterdam. Inside it a great collection of the talented and tragic Dutch artist, who spent more time in France than in his native land, especially in the south of France. Here the visitor learns about his early influences, and of course one can view dozens of his best work executed in Arles and environs in the south of France. Van Gogh's relatively short life was lived intensely and brilliantly. In the museum there's a small cafe serving excellent coffee and healthy snacks. Don't miss this museum when next in Amsterdam.

This is a great museum that clearly takes you through the different parts of Van Gogh’s life. Particularly fascinating were the sections showing works of other artists that inspired Van Gogh and the section on his letters to his brother and cheerleader Theo. While someone Van Gogh’s major works are of course housed in other great museums in the world, the vast number of works here make it worth the visit.
