“Van Gough On the Move is about to end”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Van Gough Museum is in the Hermitage while it was under renovation. It will move back to its original position on 1st of May. I have always been facinated by the exceptional use of colour by Van Gogh which seem to be incompatible with one another but Vincent put them in and blend together to impose a mood. The Van Gough on the Move was said to be only a third of the original collection. I will really like to have a second visit when the new Van Gough Museum opens. The queue is very long. Do go there eary in the morning. Also get the Holland Pass or the I Amsterdam card. Holders line up in a different queue which is much shorter.

“My favourite artist of all time”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

The museum was actually shut for refurbishment when we were there so they had a special exhibition of his works in the Hermitage. Beautiful building showing Van Gogh's works. With audio explaining his life. very moving and touching. such a sad life and such an inspiring artist. Easy to get to as most places are in Amsterdam. Even if Van Gogh is not being exhibited one should visit the Hermitage. stunning museum.

“great”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Yet another amazing art gallery in the Netherlands. I love the place. It's always packed but that's part of the appeal for me. Interesting to see all the nationalities. It's very well laid out. Apart from seeing VVG's amazing work the collection of other artists work is also well worth a look. Camille Pissaro painting in there that I stared at for ages (can't remember the name - the road to arles i think). You basically have to go here if you visit lovely Amsterdam. I could spend hours in there.

“A great way to spend a rainy morning”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

We went early on a rainy morning and was glad we did. We were able to enjoy the museum before the tour busses arrived and it was pleasurable not to be rushed
