“Interesting AND delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012 via mobile

While visiting Amsterdam again recently, my friend and I - both cheese-aholics - decided to try out the cheese tasting at Reypenaer. What a great couple of hours! Not only did we get to taste - in hugely generous samples - about six of their delicious cheeses, but we also received nice servings of different wines and a port to go with the cheeses. Rating the cheeses was an interesting exercise and it was interesting to see which cheese different people liked the best. Their pairing of wines with cheeses was very well done. I tried switching some of the combinations and found that their selections of wines really did go best with their paired cheese.
I would definitely go and do this again on another trip to Ams!

They are an independent cheese maker who won multiple awards. Well deserved. The cheese is of a very high quality and very, very delicious.

“Cheese!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

A friend and I are both big cheese fans so when we were in Amsterdam recently we decided to try the cheese tasting at Reypenaer. The tasting consists of watching a video followed by a tasting of six cheeses with white wine, red wine and port. The cheese is excellent and you basically can eat cheese to your hearts content. The cheese is very good and you also learn about how the cheese is made and aged as well.

“about 15 euro / 6 cheeses and wine etc.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

The tasting takes about 1 hour. In this time you watch a video and taste about 6 cheeses. The cheese is located on a cheese guillotine in front of you and you take as much as you want. Some of the cheeses are best tasted with white wine, red wine or some port (porto). You get the wine/port with the cheese and they don't mind to provide some extra. The tasting includes 2 goat cheeses and 4 "gouda stile" cheeses. I liked the "teacher" a lot, she spoke both Dutch and English quite well and provided a lot of background information. At the end you receive a cheese tasting certificate and a 15% discount in the cheese shop above the tasting room.

“Good cheese”

Not shy on the cheese here and wine and port. Worth a visit if your there and excellent cheeses. Although you could probably get some excellent cheeses from elsewhere for cheaper.
