“Fascinating Videos”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Once I found the entrance to this museum, I easily immersed myself in its contents. The DNA booklet was so cool; you place it over a stand, pick up one of four audio pieces, and listen in your own language while you watch the accompanying movie/slide show.

I found the growth of the city fascinating and the ways it was done innovative and well explained. A good review of history as well.

“Original history museum”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Gave us a very informative and original take on Amsterdam's history. Some of the logistics need to be improved and simplified. It has a very modern approach, but they didn't think it through thoroughly enough. We often had trouble getting the audios to work.

“A GOOD CITY HISTORY MUSEUM. USE THE AUDIO FOR ENHANCED RESULTS”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

This museum comprehensively covers the history of Amsterdam. The exhibits could be better organized in that once you left a particular topical location it was hard to know where to go next.
But it was interesting concerning the history of Amsterdam, the East Indies affiliation, the use of marijuana and other drugs, the remarkable number of outstanding artists who were based here including works by some of them (Rembrandt. Bol, and others). One of the exhibits I enjoyed the most concerned the seafaring history of Amsterdam. There were numerous nautical theme artists featured in this section. You definitely will need 1-2 hours here.
