This is the place to stay if you want to visit Amsterdam's crazy days and at the end of the day, have the deserved rest.

Charming hotel, which defines very well the Sofitel standard and the legendary place, where the hotel was built.

Very good location.

Very sympathetic and friendly staff.

Room Tip: any room is great

The hotel is excellent and extremely ideal in terms of the infrastructure , location and over courteous staff. beautiful property. we were in its Presidential Suit which had its own charm. staff was too warm and helpful. Though the breakfast served in 'Bridge' was not all that great.

Great Hotel and location to walk around Amsterdam. The best service we had on our Europe vacation which were all 5 star hotels. The breakfast buffet was also one of the best along with the "great service". The bedding, towels and bathroom robes were also 5 star level, not like the other so called 5 star hotels we stayed at. Will definitely stay at more Sofitel Hotels in the future.

A 5 star hotel in a historical building that live up to expectation and beyond.

It has very cleverly designed layout inside and outside the room. In the room you find good sized spaces to make coffee, do luggage packing after some extravagant shoppings and catch up with work email at the desk, watch tv on couch for 2 persons and a thoughtful coffee table in between for snacking and some wine. Oh and the bathroom, I wish my home designer knows how to use longish space to advantage and sectioned shower, bath and toilet separately.

It has super modern facilities that are working perfectly like IPTV, nepresso, free wifi for room guests everywhere in the hotel and even cross the street where you can sit idling beside the canal.

The terrace cafe is lovely, you can spend the whole afternoon reading but it'll be perfect if they open up the lounge sofa section to really enjoy the terrace because the seats in the upper section are either high chair or dining chair. Also worth mentioning that the foods and beverages are great, even the condiments that come with coffee and cocktails taste excellent.

The Michelin star restaurant - Bridges is a must try where you can taste the sea and the garden, it awakes your taste buds with freshness as base and layered with inviting savoriness.

We love the bed, the only one that we feel a difference among all hotels that claim meticulous care has been taken to design hotel beds. You will sleep like a baby.

Appreciate the design details everywhere it's a pity that we missed joining the daily tour at 11am to know more about the historical building. You can still see the rod iron stairs at the entrance where guards used to climbed up to the fort.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, never too busy to greet you and they know their guests well.

Well done!

excellent location and lounges and courtyard places to stay for outside drinks or lunches, very good reception and helpful staff. Details could be improved i.e. half bottles in mini-bar. A few minutes walk from anywhere interesting. great setting all in all.

I would definitely recommend this amazing 5-star hotel in the very center of Amsterdam to anyone. It is absolutely one of the best 5-stars I have visited. Excellent service, Micheline- star food even for breakfast, very comfortable beds and great canal-views! What more could a traveler ask for. I loved the place and the room, we had lovely time sightseeing – everything is a walking distance from the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, w-fi works fast and you don’t even have to go looking for where to spend the evening – if you feel like staying in, there is a great bar in the hotel with very good service and drinks)
