Many floors of pure history. It is an amazing place. It worth every euro. It's close to the Heineken brewery also. Go both places.

My husband and I toured the Rijksmuseum for 4 hours. It was EXCELLENT. We could have stayed in front of the Rembrandts the entire time. The dollhouses were fascinating, the silver pieces, beautiful, so many unique pieces of art and history. All was worth the entrance fees and time, except for one item-- the self guiding head-phones. They were expensive and complicated to use. They are not designed in the simple manner that we found in other museums. When we complained to a guide, she said the Museum was trying to work on a new system. There are many information cards in various rooms.By the time we had been there 30 minutes, we gave up the headphones and used only the portable cards. Save your money-- use the cards.

Even though the modern look of the building isn't at all what I expected, it houses a very interesting collection from Rembrandt's Nachtwacht to the Mondriaan inspired dress by Yves Saint Laurent.
Take your time to scroll through the collection, if a room is too crowded at a certain point, wait a few moments, it's realy worth it.

We went to this museum after the Van Gogh. This museum was beautiful and had very nice art. I recommend going there on a rainy day because there is a lot to do outside in Amsterdam. Also it might not be worth it to go through the whole museum because it is huge, so it is important to know what you want to see if you go and plan it out.
