Owner description: The Rijksmuseum is the museum of the Netherlands. The completely renovated Rijksmuseum tells the story of the Netherlands from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Including works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, and more! Most famous is Rembrandt's masterpiece the Night Watch. A new display of the collection, a renewed building, new public facilities, a revamped garden and a new Asian Pavilion. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

Don’t get stressed out by the 110 people all holding cameras and phones a few centimetres from a tiny self portrait of Van Gogh, the Rijksmuseum is a huge place with lots of overlooked masterpieces. It may not be one of the 10 pictures you must see, but if it looks good to you, enjoy it. Staff really efficient and helpful.

Busy, costs £17.50 for adults but free for kids and no student discount. But brilliant art of course, beautiful building. Toilets free but not very clean and very busy.

Well curated and organised with some fantastic works of art. Really worth a visit if you have a few hours

A beautiful building containing a huge museum with a vast collection of artefacts throughout hundreds of years of history in a beautiful building. A number of interesting things to see and learn about thoughout which is all very well and good, but we were disappointed with the random collection and lack of structure or story to the items presented. Also, a shame how only a small number of rooms maintained the traditional presentation of the building - many rooms were filled with grey walls and ceilings in order to present the artefacts. We most enjoyed the first floor with the library, great hall and vast staircase, but couldn't recommend the Rijksmuseum for this alone - if architecture is your thing, visit the Royal Palace instead, at a cheaper cost of €10 which includes a free audio tour. Despite this, you could spend hours here as it's a massive place. Ensure you get an obligatory photo with the I Amsterdam sign - this almost appeared to be busier than the museum itself.

Fantastic museum, a bit crowded in August. Some master pieces - the most important ones have a poster with some information.
Can't miss Night Watch - Rembrandt
