“BIG. Worth Your Time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

This museum was recently renovated and re-opened not long ago. They did a fantastic job! The art is tremendous, the historical exhibits illuminating. You could easily spend a whole day here..or more. This is the national museum, so this is the best of the best. I'd put this right up there with the canal tours as something you MUST do when in Amsterdam. If you are going to do one "cultural" museum kind of thing in Amsterdam, this is the one.

“great place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

The only problem ith this visit is that the museum closes at 5 pm, quite early, so make sure you get there early.
The second floor is by far the best one

“Incredible art in a beautiful building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

There's a lot of amazing art to see, and the building itself is impressive. Worth a visit - just avoid Saturdays if you can.

“Great to see some of the master”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

This place was pretty cool and worth the entry fee. Got to see many of the Dutch masters works. It's a clean and pretty standard museum of art, but larger than most.

“If you can visit only two museums in Amsterdam...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

This is one of them.
Easy to get to, easy to get around. We loved every bit of the museum and there was something for everyone. My little boy loved the cannons, swords and guns. I loved the wooden ships and everyone loved Rembrandt, especially the "Night Watch".
Be sure to see "Rembrandt's J'Accuse" before you go, a wonderful documentary on the painting with a very plausible explanation for the motivations for the painting and Rembrandt's sudden fall from grace after the painting was finished.
