Having been to the museum a few years ago, and seeing it after the renovation, the difference is truly amazing. The atrium itself is spectacular and a sight to see.
The museum is extremely well laid out with maps and brochures telling you where the major exhibits are. Audio tours are also available. Be prepared to walk.
Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Vermeer are some of the greats on display. The Night Watch is on display in the Hall of Fame and is the center of attraction with large crowds around the painting. Placards are available which tell you the finer details of the night watch.
The museum has taken the unusual step of making some 125,000 high-resolution images available for download via its Rijks Studio software, with plans to add another 40,000 images per year until the entire collection of one million works is available,
This is an absolute must do when visiting Amsterdam.
