This museum has hundreds of paintings and various exhibitions from many centuries. It is well laid out but beware that one of the floors does not connect to the other one, which confused us for a while. There is a special exhibition to honor Rembrandt. There are also interactive exhibitions and free audio guide that are simply phenomenal

We intended visiting this establishment but having seen the queue to get in, decided against it. Incidentally this queue was at 10:30 AM on a Sunday morning and it resembled to sort of queue you'd expect to see at a major football match or similar.

I'm guessing it would have been an experience similar to the Louvre. Just thousands of oafs galloping around photographing everything on their phones then never looking at the photos afterwards.

This museum has an immense collection of masterpiece paintings of Dutch and world art. You can spend hours browsing through over a million works of art and historical objects in more than 200 rooms. You will see famous paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer, among hundreds of other artists housed in an ornate building with Gothic and Renaissance influences. A tip- buy your tickets online ahead of time to save long admission lines!

We bought a Holland Card and was able to enter the museum without having to line up to buy a ticket. The art in the museum is wonderful, particularly considering the age of the works. There is a cafe on site with good food. Rembrandt works were fabulous.

Even if you buy an online ticket, you’ll still need to wait in the line for the wardrobe. If you are font of the arts, you would like it there. If not you could pay a visit, but you will be tired of the museum’s size.

The building and architecture already deserves a visit.
Most people go for the classic Dutch paintings, still there are many other surprises that you will find

Felt less crowded than the Van Gogh Museum. Paintings by Rembrandt were fantastic. We had room to enjoy many areas. Cafe is very limited in food selections however. Overall a good visit.

Even if you don't want to go inside, I recommend wandering over to look at the building. Often there is music playing in the arched walkway to the entrances. The acoustics make it swoon-worthy. There is a lovely cafe in the atrium which doesn't require entrance ticket (loved the apple cake and pumpkin soup) for a nice break. But, truly, I hope you take a venture inside, at the very minimum to the gallery of honor (?) to see the giant Nigh Watch as well as the Vermeer paintings. I did find navigating a bit confusing, even with a map. There were no lines in the afternoon for entering, and we bought our tickets online to save time. My son could only handle a couple of hours here as it was the fourth museum in three days we had visited in Amsterdam. I would love to go back and leisurely wander the art-filled rooms.
