This is the second time I've been to b&nb herengracht, it has a great location and is a nice apartment.
The first time we were there in 2013 we were woken each morning by building work going on before 9am, but we put this down to being a one off and booked to come back in 2014.
I didn't think it possible but the same thing happened again! We are not light sleepers, to put this in to perspective we live in a highly populated apartment block in London near a railway station. Not sure if January is when the shop upstairs does its renovations or re-stock but we were not warned, and yet again we had no lie ins after 9am.
I complained to the hotel management when I got home to be told that the shop had denied any works or noise was going on, and they couldn't explain it. Not very nice to essentially be told I'm "hearing things" or I'm making it up, especially when my boyfriend heard it too.
I won't be coming back here because of the way they've handled this situation. Great place as long as nothing goes wrong I guess! Too expensive per night to put up with poor customer service though.
