“Good but ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012 via mobile

Stayed 3 nights. Location: excellent, within few hundred metres of the Central Station and first canal ring areas, right in the heart of main tourist centre of shops, restaurants, nightlife, etc. Layout: one room bigger with sofa on Main Street above entrance. Back room smaller into back courtyard. Both equally noisy as we are in the middle of the nightlife district. We ga the back room and our first night, Friday we had a bunch of drinkers until 3 am! Back room next to shower and toilet, front rooms next to kitchen. Walls are thin and poorly insulated. You hear everything! Cold and lots of condensation on the windows. You can turn up the heating but poorly insulated as it is an old building. Back room best in summer (but noisy!). My take, neither is good. Overall: practical, clean, good location, proper welcome, adequate explanation but nothing exceptional. Will try another place next time.

We found this bed and breakfast from TripAdvisor. We are so happy we did. The owners of the place were super helpful and very friendly. The location was great! We were in the Red Light District and really close to Dam Square. We walked almost everywhere from the b&b. We loved that we could use the kitchen and there was always really fresh food for us to prepare. It was great! The balcony was a nice touch. When we were too tired to go out, we'd get some wine and hang out on the balcony. The room, bathroom and kitchen were really clean and we felt very safe staying there. As everyone has mentioned, there are quite a few stairs to get to the room but Goran helped us up with our luggage which was really nice! Overall, we'd definitely recommend this b&b to anyone who didn't want a typical hotel in Amsterdam....it's definitely a great find!

My husband and I picked this B & B from the trip advisor reviews and we were thrilled with our choice. This apartment was one street over from the red light district and a quick walk from the Central train station. The door way to the apartment is a bit tricky to find at first, we used the landmark of a large sign that says HOTEL to find our entry. There are many flights of stairs to climb to get to the apartment, but it is well worth it. The apartment is well laid out, with each bedroom on either end of the apartment and the shared facilities in the center. We had the front room (facing the street) but never had any trouble with the noise because the windows are double insulated. Our host was great, he met us at the apartment and went over what sights we were interested in seeing and helped us mark them on a map. He also gave us some great recommendations for food too. The kitchen is fully stocked and Goran (our host) was willing to pick up anything extra for breakfast that we liked or needed. We actually got great Thai take out at Thai Bird in Chinatown (around the corner) and ate it back at the apartment! Beds were made each day and new towels were provided if we needed them. This area is super safe and a great location to see all the sights. If you aren't into the Red light district just don't go over 1 block and you'll avoid it, however it was safe and quite entertaining!

This apartments situated in the middle of RedLight District.
One minute on foot to the Dam Square and five minutes to Centraal.
You'll find everything you need near this hotel: bars, restaurants, night clubs, supermarkets and shops.
Rooms and kitchen are very clean. Windows have good sound insulation, noise from the street is almost inaudible.
Very friendly host named Goran. He advised us some excellent restaurants and sights which should be visited.

We with my girlfriend were very pleased with this hotel.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in September and the B&B was great! Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we felt very safe, which was great since the location is in the heart of all the action. Goran was super helpful and made sure everything was to our liking. There was more than enough food for breakfast and the selection was nice. Overall a great find, and was a wonderful location. Close to restaurants, sightseeing, RLD....Definitely recommend.

I stayed at Kuwadro with my partner for a couple of days, we found that the location was perfect as we could easily walk or take a boat trip to many of the attractions that had been recommended to us. We also thought that the B&B was extremely clean and we enjoyed the self serve breakfast facilities being able to eat when it suited us, instead of being rushed around.

Overall we felt very welcome by Goran and Johnny who provided us with excellent directions and information about the local area, whilst Kuwadro was fresh, modern and great value.

I booked a room in Kuwadro because I wanted something different to the normal hotels. It was a great choice. It was a bit difficult to find at first because there are no obvious signs outside, but Goran called me while on my way to check if I were finding my way and quickly explained how to find it. It feels like you are staying in a spacious appartment. You can come and go as you please with your own key. If you don't feel like eating out, you can get good quality food at the Albert Hein store two blocks away. We prepared a fabulously tender pepper steak with Blue berry cheese cake for desert.

It has free Wi-fi internet and best off all, a Nespresso coffee machine, for people who believe life is too short to have bad coffee! I shall most certainly return to stay here when next I visit Amsterdam. Thank you, Goran!
