Description: Our bread is made today exactly as it was in the beginning: with only organic stone-ground flour, salt, and water, kneaded and shaped by hand and baked in a hearth under the watchful eye of artisan bakers. We insist on the freshest and finest ingredients. If we can't find them, we make them ourselves. Our shelves are lined with the products we've created: the jams and chocolate spreads on the communal table, the granola in your parfait, the coffee that fills your bowl.

The coffee was very good, breakfast yummy, but we thought the bread was a bit dry... so, next day we opted for croissants and they were quite good

We discovered this place whilst avoiding over-priced corporate hotel breakfasts. It is atmospheric and provides appetising freshly cookked food. Not sure what the dinner menu would offer, but for lunch or breakfast if you're in the area (which is a way off the tourist trail) its great.

Fantasticly delicious melt-in-your-mouth Apple tarts & hearty, healthy freshly baked breads. Superb croissants & cappucino. We each ordered a mushroom omlette & the next day when we went back we split one instead. Excellent value. Delightful servers: we liked them so much we took their photo. Cute decor with choice of private tables or a seat at a long community table.

We always eat here when in Belgium and France so we know what to expect. We stopped in today and were greeted and seated by a very friendly member of staff. However, we waited forever to have an order taken mainly due to the fact that there were three members of staff doing something behind the counter while one young lady seemed to be the only one working the till, behind the counter AND the outdoor seating. After I went in to ask to place our order, magically, these three other members of staff appeared delivering orders. Let it be said that all staff were very friendly and nice and the food was up to its usual standard for the most part but...beware Le Pain Q...don't follow in the footsteps of other Amsterdam restaurants delivering slow service. You lost two groups of customers while we waited for our order to be taken...and it was not busy.
