After enjoying a couple of days worth of finely prepared fish around town, I went deep carnivore and picked up 270m grams of angus at Burger Bar (the Kolksteed location near the central station). With the 'small' frites. HIghly recommend the goat cheese as a topping. Not sure I'd have the curry sauce with the frites again. A bit heavy for the otherwise greaseless and delightful frites. Not sure the extra EUR for the wagyu is worth it if you go heavy on toppings. These are already expensive burgers for a guy used to paying domestic US prices, but the quality is good, especially if you want something good to go, like I did. Value-wise you just need to remember you are in old town AMsterdam and popular spots like this can support charging high prices. Took mine to go, can't really comment on the space (which was small) but if you like socializing with new people, this is a good place. I found the busy staff as helpful as could eb expected in a high volume, close quarters space. Don't expect lots of hand-holding when ordering, however.
