This B&B is very well located a 5 minute walk from Central Station where trams to most parts of the city are also available - the #5 goes all the way to major museums. The website is totally honest about room descriptions and warning of steep stairs. But the owners are happy to carry luggage up and down. We spent a week in Room 23 - no canal view, but chosen because it is on level 1 and is spacious and quiet. There is a room safe, comfortable bed, and bathroom is modern and efficient with good quality towels. Breakfast is not lavish, but more than adequate, with made to order eggs and pancakes. Staff are friendly and helpful, adding to the pleasure of staying at this accommodation.

Room Tip: Website gives honest room descriptions

I prefer to stay in local hotels instead of chains. This hotel met my needs perfectly.
I spent one night here before joining a Bike and Barge tour as it is very close to NEMO where the barges for the Bike and Barge tours are docked. The room was clean and had a lovely canal view. The host recommended a wonderful local restaurant for dinner. The breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced, They will make you pancakes and eggs to order
The hotel is very close to the train Station, however, the directions from the station are rather confusing. They say to look for a medieval tower upon exiting the train station. I could see 3 towers when from the station, as a result I walked a couple of blocks passed the street that the hotel was on. I mentioned this to several other guests and they had the same experience. This hotel is perfect if you are meeting a bike and barge tour or a cruise as it is easy walking distance to both. Also, the stairs really are steep and narrow, however, the hosts will carry your bags up the stairs for you.

Couldn't get a better location, walking distance to everything. Could be a little noise from street but it never stopped us sleeping. Very clean hotel, staff couldn't of helped anymore with suitcases upstairs, rooms cleaned everyday, help with trans, trains and attractions. Highly recommend and would stop here again. Thanks guys!

We stayed in May 2017 for 3 nights for my partners 30th birthday and couldn't have picked a more perfect hotel. From arriving we were warmly greeted by the hosts and given information, maps of the city and recommendations on some great places to go grab some food.

When we arrived back to the hotel after lunch our room was ready and I have to say, wow. Absolutely stunning, super clean, high ceilings, amazing views of the canal, free prosecco in the fridge to celebrate our stay and a super comfy bed. The hotel is an old tobacco house dating from the 1800's, with windy narrow stair cases, sat just in front of the canal (beautiful views) and behind the red light district. You get a real feel for staying in Amsterdam which is really important!

Location wise it was absolutely perfect, about 5 minutes walk to the train station and tram lines, with loads of nice restaurants and bars near by. We never had the breakfast served at the hotel however we found a favourite just round the corner called "omelegg". We particularly enjoyed the honesty bar a few times during our stay and the free coffee in the morning was great.

During our stay we had a freak heatwave so the air conditioning was a welcome and effective way to keep the room cool! The bed was really comfy and we slept well, bathroom was lovely - powerful shower and massive bath, ritual branded products to use.

On my partners actual birthday he got balloons, chocolates and more free prosecco which was lovely and really made the stay even more special :)

All in all I can't fault this hotel, I spent forever trawling through trip advisor looking at where to stay as it was for a special occasion, however I am so glad I picked mauro mansion. We would 100% stay here again If we ever return to Amsterdam - thank you for an exceptional stay!!!!

We stayed at Mauro Mansion recently for 2 nights. The hotel is in a great location, close to Central Station and the red light district. We stayed in room 22 which was lovely, it had a huge window overlooking the canal. The complementary drinks in the room were great! The honesty bar was a great touch, the water from there is cheaper than you can get in any shop and you just let them know what you have had when you check out. The beer and wine is really well priced. There is also free coffee all day!
The bed was comfy and the room was clean. For the price we paid compared to other places we looked at, I cant fault this hotel at all.

Room Tip: Room 22 overlooks the canal, but it is up a flight of steep stairs.
