Enjoyed our stay in 6/2011. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Helped us with trip planning, cabs and reservations to local attractions. Beautiful and well maintained home. We stayed in one of the Canal Rooms with a lovely view. Rooms were impeccably clean and good size. Comfy bed. They have an honesty bar in the lobby/sitting area/breakfast room with great selection of wines, beers and snacks. Great location! About a 10 minute walk from the train station. Around the corner from the red light district but you wouldn't know it. Plenty of nearby bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed three nights in this small boutique hotel that is about a five minute walk from the train station. Operated and managed by the owners who obviously take much pride in the property. Spotlessly clean. Quirky, good sized rooms with excellent bathrooms and comfortable beds. A help-yourself type breakfast with very various tasty and fresh choices While the property is on the edge of the Red Light district, it is on a very quiet canal and there are no issues about feeling safe. Easy to get to all the attractions from this hotel and a number of good restaurants within easy walking distances. If you have any mobility issues you will have to stay away from the rooms on the upper floors. There is no elevator and people aren't kidding when they say the staircase is narrow and steep. An excellent choice for travellers arriving from the airport via the central train station who are looking for an alternative to the usual sterile chain hotels.

Room Tip: Those people with any mobility issues need to get a room on the lower floors.

My wife and I stayed six nights in June 2013, spending three days wandering Amsterdam and three others using the train system for day trips to outlying cities. The hotel was ideally situated for both. The hotel is about a five minute walk from the Red Light District, so it's nearby, but you're not actually in it. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The 24 hour honesty bar (with its beer, wine, and snacks) is also a nice touch. Overall, it is a wonderful place to stay and we would absolutely recommend it to any of our friends. Now that we're back home, we desperately miss Barry's breakfast treats :-)

Situated a few minutes' walk from the train station, this unassuming hotel is one of the main reasons we'd visit Amsterdam again.

Berry & Marcel were great hosts and are more than willing to help in any way they can. Their dedication to hospitality can be seen throughout the hotel. Our room was large & clean, with an awesome bath and shower. A small refrigerator in the room had free prosecco, soft drinks & snacks and the honesty bar downstairs was cheaper than many of the local bars.

The breakfasts were fresh & different everyday - the pancakes were worth the trip alone!

Mauro Mansion is in a great location - right next to the New Market square for bars & market stalls and it doesn't take long to get to any of the main tourist attractions in Amsterdam.

Big thumbs up from us!

My daughter (21) and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of our 2 week Europe trip. We were in one of the first floor rooms which was good size and very clean. The bathroom is very modern, had a wonderful shower, and a heated floor. There was a small refrigerator that was stocked with complimentary drinks which was a very nice touch. The breakfast was very nice. Breads, cereals, cheeses, meat, yogurt, plus the usual coffee, variety of teas and hot chocolate. Every morning Barry would whip up something special to go along with our breakfast...scrambled eggs, dutch pancake, or fresh strawberries with cream.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Quiet street and close to the main train station and trams. It was a five minute walk to the train station and easy with luggage. Barry was very helpful in explaining about the tram system, small nearby towns to visit, and restaurant recommendations. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor because there isn't a lift and I didn't want to carry our heavy...

Mauro Mansion is in a great location and has wonderful owners. Berry was great and helped me set up a dinner cruise as well as a great massage. The location is perfect as we could walk anywhere within 15-20 minutes at most. Would definitely stay here again!
