Description: Buffet van Odette is located on a nice and light spot right on the canal. We are open from 10 in the mornig for breakfast, lunch and diner. We use mainly authentic, organic and local product in our kitchen. Our Bocca-coffee is delicious and Direct Trade (even better than Fair Trade)!

Cozy place, healthy food, good service. Busy, yet easily seated. Portions could be small for some. All in all nice place for a sunday morning brunch.

If you want to order food there try not to look at their open kitchen. Horror. We did however while waiting to pay. It is too dirty even for Dutch standarts. And overpriced, of course. We paid 15 euros for 2 coffees+2 cheesecakes. Cheese cakes, by the way, were the only pastries/cakes available in this self-proclaimed French bistro, they have nothing to do nor with French pastries, neither with cheesecake. It tastes white sugar, just sugar, nothing else.
The terrace seems not to be cleaned for years, the menus are just crumpled A4 pages with black text on it. The waitress forgot to bring the second piece of cake. Is it really so difficult to remember the order? The quiestion is then why such a place is allowed to call it French?

We were really pleased to find this spot open on Sunday morning - not much else was open that looked our style. Very cosy inside and a very nice looking menu. We had the toasted raisin bread, croissant, muesli with fresh fruit and yoghurt, as well as coffees. Everything was very good although portion sizes were a bit small.

'Odette' turned out a dissapointment: apparently there have been better days but they for sure have gone. The 'buffet' part is no longer offered for diner, the rest of the menu is at best called average, portions are small, and there isn't much choice in fresh veggies. Staff and service are aloof and sloppy which makes a curious combination. Last but not least: prices are high.
