We had found good recommendations for Cafe Pacifico on the internet, that's why we went there. Maybe under the new management a lot has been changed for the worse. Or the cook was ill that night and a waiter had to cook instead. A waiter who had never cooked before. Well, I don't know - but what I do know is that I have never had a Mexican dish that was nearly as bad as this.
Specifics: Two of us ordered the ribs plus chicken wings which turned out to be OK but the MEXICAN food -which was, of course, the reason for us to go there in the first place - was just tasteless. I bet there wasn't even salt in either the chicken for the burrito or the minced meat for the Fajita, not to mention any other spices. To make up for this, about half of the filling was onion. Now I'm as glad as anyone to help people increase their profit margin but I'm sure a little more meat wouldn't have done any harm. The service was OK and we really liked the Mojitos but since we didn't go there for cocktails it still remained an unsatisfactory experience. Don't make the same mistake. Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam, it's a great city!

Our groups had average food during our visit. The rib dish was described as a bit dry although one of our party said his steak was ok. Two Mexican dishes were average with accompanying rice that had obviously been kept on a heater and was solid to such an extent that when I attempted to break it with my fork it spun off the plate to the amusement of our party.
Our trip there was provided with additional entertainment from some of the attendant drunks one of whom was so drunk, him & his partner having been sold 4 bottles of wine by the restaurant that he had wet himself and fell on another table before being led out! Much to our amusement...... Not what you want from a meal out though!

...and not much else either. Don't bother! 2nd time tonight I've heard Chris DeBurge. Food was awful as was the service, slow. Very over priced. Food arrived cold too. Not even any fresh chillis in the food. It was like your Gran cookIng Mexican for first time because she'd heard that you like it. Time to get stoned!

We've been going to Pacifico since it opened in the seventies. Wonderful food, reasonable prices, and good ambiance. It now still carries the name Pacifico, but since it changed ownership, it's not the same restaurant anymore. The food was terrible, the Margarita like water, and the service was poor. It was a waste of money. We will never go there again. Pity, we have many good memories of the place. They don't deserve the name Pacifico.
