The hotel is located in the nice area of Prinsengracht, Leidesplein, the area that you want to be when you are visiting Amsterdam. Surrounded by beautiful canals and cool shops, coffee houses, patisseries, fast foods, and lots of gay-friendly establishments, it is merely walking distance to everywhere. And when you spend your whole day walking, what is a better way to end than a hot long shower then drown yourself in a comfortable latex bed of Acostar hotel, it is definitely will lift up your mood again. The receptionist are friendly, there's a vending machine for drinks & snacks downstair, pretty convenience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that face the back-side of the hotel, the view is better. There are no elevator, so if you carry big luggage/stuffs, ask for a lower levels.

The hotel is in a great location, just off the main street where you can walk to a square to eat or drink, or get trams to almost anywhere locally. The hotel itself is clean, but quite small (as are most buildings in Amsterdam), and for our first night, the receptionist said she had moved us to a 'better room' as the original one allocated was small. The room we moved to was at the front on the third floor (no lift) and after finally getting to sleep at around 5:30am, decided we'd either have to move rooms or hotel to survive the rest of the week. Her attitude changed quickly when we asked to move rooms 'I've moved you once already' although we hadn't asked to be moved originally. Eventually after much huffing and puffing, we moved to a room at the back and had 4 peaceful nights sleep.

But, the rooms are tiny, room for just a double bed, and a single wardrobe. No cupboards or storage space at all, nor drink facilities. En suite is good. Can't comment on food as we ate out.

To sum up, great location, clean, comfortable but small rooms, but make sure you ask for a room at the rear of hotel if you want to sleep.
