“great place”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Lovely part of a/dam. Less busier than Dam Square and quitr a bit quieter than Leidseplein at night. Has a good few coffee shops if that's your thing and lots of nice quirky shops.

Very nice street with lots of very original shops, from clothes to jewels, from cameras to one of the best movietheatres in town

“So close yet so far away from tourist trap”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Five minutes from Central Station, yet, a far cry from the tourist mile around the Dam and in the RLD. This street has it all, everything but high street shops. Don't forget admire the houses on this amazing street, especially at night. True, it has quite a few coffee shops, but don't get discouraged, that's part of this city. If you make it all the way to the end, the reward will be the best cinema in town - The Movies. At this semi-arthouse theater you will be able to recapture that old movie feeling. There are some great and diverse eateries here too, but for something special, head just one street down (or up) towards the canals and try the Belhamel. So, go but don't tell the tourists!

“500 meters away of the Tourists”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

Only 500 meters away of the major trourist trap is a great place to meet the Real Amsterdam. Shops, pubs, restaurants where you can hide for weeks and not get bored.
