“Great location for exploring Amsterdam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

What a delightful experience. You are in a small private cottage in the back garden of Astrid's house. You have your own entrance to come and go as you please. The location is south of Vondel Park so if you want to be in the middle of the noisy city this may not be for you. We marveled over the design of the cottage - very small with a wall bed (comfortable!!). It's a beautiful walk to the Rijkesmuseum but I think most visitors end up buying a 24 hour tram/bus pass (about $10 US) so you can more easily get to all of the locations in Amsterdam that you might want to visit on your trip. We loved the location and felt very private and safe. Astrid was so helpful and maintained the right balance of available but not intrusive. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now and it's what we will recommend to all our friends.

The other reviews really tell it all. This is a private "cottage" in the rear garden of an Amsterdam home. It is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, very convenient to transportation, not too far from downtown and with restaurants and groceries available nearby. We walked to the Rijksmuseum through Vondelpark and it took about 30 minutes. Trams and buses, though, are only 5 minutes away.
Astrid is very helpful and knowledgeable, and just a wonderful person.
The cottage had everything we needed but keep in mind that there is only room for at most two.
Without hesitation, this will be my first choice for accommodation in Amsterdam.

This is a winner. Flores&Puck overcomes the problem with most B&B's which is that you are effectively staying in someone's home and have to play by house rules.

At Flores&Puck you come and go by your own entrance to the lovely self contained cottage at bottom of the garden. Owner Astrid has done a bit of travelling herself and speaks Dutch, German and English- maybe others. She has furnished the cottage to hotel standard with everything the weary traveller could want down to the espresso machine and shelf full of books and guides.

You will meet Astrid in the garden at breakfast time and find out anything you need to know about Amsterdam before boarding the number 2 tram for a short ride to the centre of town. Or cycling a short distance to Vondel Park or the Van Gogh museum. This is real Amsterdam- handy to restaurants, a supermarket and transport but off the tourist trail.

I spent 5 nights at Flores&Puck. It was a peaceful retreat from a busy conference at RAI (easy to get there by tram and metro). I'll be back!

The lovely little cottage, set at the end of a peaceful garden, was somewhere we really looked forward to returning to after a long day of sightseeing. Astrid, our warm and welcoming host, has really thought of everything when designing it for guests including a super-comfortable murphy bed, Nespresso coffee machine and smaller details such as umbrellas and nail varnish remover!

Flores & Puck is set in a nice residential area South of Amsterdam centre, easily accessible from the airport. A 10 minute tram ride takes you to the city centre or you can walk or cycle through the lovely Vondlepark. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and some takeaways if you don't fancy going out. The cottage is equipped with plates, cutlery etc. and one night we took advantage of this by having pizza.

Breakfast is optional but we'd highly recommend it. Astrid brings fresh bread, croissants, cheese, meats, fruit, yoghurt etc. down to the cottage in the morning and includes some doggy bags in case you want to take some out with you. There was so much food we made sandwiches which we were able to enjoy later in the day.

All in all this is a fantastic place and somewhere we'd love to stay again! Thank you Astrid.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Flores & Puck and will certainly be staying again. The cottage is lovely; cute furnishings, fluffy towels and a nespresso machine. It's quiet and pretty, a real gem.

We really enjoyed borrowing Asrid's bikes too. The location of Flores & Puck is great, away from the bustle but close enough to be able to cycle through the park to the city safely and easily.

Asrid was so welcoming and so helpful. We loved staying here, thank you!

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Amsterdam. It is located in a quieter section of Amsterdam, but close to tram #2 that goes to all the major sites. Also walking distance to Vondel Park and Van Gogh museum.. Astrid also has a bike to use, which was wonderful to ride around Vondel Park.
I would recommend this place to a single person or couple who want to experience the wonderful city, but have a quieter place to come back to in the evening.

It was already our second stay in Astrid's wonderful little cottage within a peaceful and blooming garden. We just love it there! This time we visited Amsterdam with our one year old and living in Astrid's tastefully furnished lodge was as relaxing as the first time. Again we discovered the city again on bikes which we had borrowed from Astrid. A baby seat was also no problem. Riding by bike through the beautiful vondelpark it takes you only about 15 minutes into the centre. Also the equipment is well chosen: a fridge, a very good coffee machine, lots of guides and current event tips etc.) Astrid was as the first time a very friendly, uncomplicated and attentive host. We will come again - for sure!!! See you soon!
