“Wonderful visit !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

This is such a wonderful idea .............if folks can live on the houseboats on the canals why can't cats ? So glad that one lady had the means, idea and compassion to establish this special place. Admission is free, donations welcomed and t shirts and other items are offered for purchase. The houseboat is staffed totally with volunteers and visitors are welcome. Most of the cats love to be petted and played with but do be mindful of the signs that describe which cats are not friendly or socialized yet. The cats even have a sun-porch and it was being well used the day of our visit. The cats are also up for adoption so if you live in AMS or the surrounding area, consider adopting one. A visit to the Poezenboot is a must if you love cats. Situated on the Singel canal the houseboat is central to all of the olde town attractions and well worth a visit.

“For cats lovers!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

A very funny place, a houseboat full with homeless cats. I would reckon the number of cats is 50.
Volunteers take care of them and feed them. The cats are all been castrated or sterilezed.
The all seem very happy and content.

“Excellent place!”

This was a great place to visit if you like cats! :)
It's free to go on, and it's FULL of cats! You can just go in there and pet them for a while.
The boat itself was a great idea and I'd advise anyone to research it :)

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

Only open for a few hours but worth a look. A couple of the cats a little hostile but, really, some cats are like that! No big deal There are plenty who loved the fuss too - just be cautious with your petting. Don't assume they all want stroked, go in slow! No entrance fee to pay but we were happy to leave a donation and spend a few Euros on a couple of badges and postcards on the way out. If you love cats, you must pay a visit!

“Lovely place! ”

A must for cat lovers! You can visit between 1 and 3pm, we got there late but the very kind lady let us in for a look round. All the cats are very happy and healthy. If you're a cat lover your probably going to visit the Kat kabinet too- go after you visit to the boat as you then get a discount!

Don't forget to make a donation, and maybe take some dreamies too :)
