The location is walking distance from the city centre. The apartment was very clean, very comfortable. Home from home! There is nothing I can say that was wrong with the apartment. It was perfect. The rooftop terrace was gorgeous at night enjoying a coffee after a long day sightseeing. Lidy was very helpful with information prior to our stay. Dolly was very cheerful and friendly when we arrived. When we go again I will definitely book with Lidy.
what to say more, to stay in a beautiful apartment in summer in Amsterdam is really very special...with roof terrace to enjoy the view over the city to have a nice 'siesta' before the sun sets... the neighbourhood is great, becomes better and better, less tourists and a lot of interesting restaurants and shops...city centre is very near ...we will come back again, merci Lidy
Lovely apartment, friendly hosts and very good connection to the city.
There is a super market right around the corner.
Stayed here last October and returning this for another wonderful stay.
Beautiful apartment, wonderful neighborhood, amazing owners.
You really won't find a better home base fro exploring Amsterdam. The train picks you up practically at your front door and in mere minutes you are in the center of the action.
The neighborhood is wonderful with amenities seconds away and beautiful safe streets to walk.
The owners make you feel like the most important person in the world. Warm and welcoming.
Can't wait to return.
This top floor flat is situated in a quiet residential square surrounding a large church. Within short walking distance are tram stop, supermarket, cafes, shops and exceptional restaurants. The local park is amazing: storks nesting, herons flying and ducks everywhere: you could be in the countryside, yet are only minutes from the centre of Amsterdam. The flat itself requires a measure of personal fitness to climb the three flights of stairs, but is warm, quiet, well furnished and equipped and very comfortable. Lidy, the owner, is available if needed and very helpful.
Staying in early spring was an enormous pleasure. Lidy was extremely pleasant and helpful, never intrusive. The rooms are lovingly appointed in good taste, with the balcony and roof terrace for fresh air - I was lucky to have a string of sunny days, and did spend a bit of time on both. Like most Dutch houses, there are stairs to climb, but they are quite manageable as Dutch traps go. On the third landing below the apartment, there is a good kitchen you can use - though I did not, this expands your dining options should you wish; a French door here is the only access to the main house, which has a separate entrance - you should not worry about privacy, as one more flight of stairs leads to your set of rooms, and your hosts will be available when needed, but will not disturb you, nor will you hear or notice they are home when you are in your own space.
The attached houses in the hof (courtyard) are situated around a beautiful, monumental church, all fine examples of the Amsterdam School from circa 1920 - this is a very quiet, upscale neighborhood tucked away but adjacent to everything you need, including a sizable grocery store.
The apartment is really an amazing value - you would pay at least twice as much in the city center, but you have easy access to transport - besides, there great restaurants at your doorstep (Merkelbach & De Kas) , the exquisite Frankendael park through which to meander, and an abundance of greenery and chirping birds in the private gardens behind the house, below your balcony. We had a great time visiting Amsterdam in December. The apartment has a beautiful bathroom, the bed is great and the sofa lovely. The kitchen is in a cupboard and the staircase up and down is anything but easy to manage. We didn´t see the roof garden as it had a step ladder to get up to it and a trapdoor. The owner was difficult to get in touch with. All in all, Amsterdam is an incredible city to visit but this appartment is not as fantastic as it seems.
