“Great evening!”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Simple, fun, and classy. Small antique wooden boat from the late 19th century used for the canal dinner cruise. Compared to the cruises we have been on in Dubai and Paris this was such a fun and unique experience. The ships crew consists of two people, the Captain and the waitress. Both do a great job caring to the ten tables on board. We booked the upgraded package with the pre-departure drinks and appetizers, well worth it. Try to get there early as seating seemed to be unassigned and first come first choice. Although there is not a bad seat on the small boat, try to sit in the front near the Captain if you want to hear some commentary and history during the cruise. My wife and I sat in the aft part of boat and enjoyed the quiet evening without the commentary, but to each his own. The best part of the dinner is that it is catered from a nice restaurant on one of the canals! On the first pass the boat stops for a few minutes to collect the salads/breads and then on the second pass your hot entrees are brought onboard. The food was nice, but the overall experience makes it worth the price of admission. Very unique and classy operation, great for a summer evening on the canal. Wouldn't go again, but would highly recommend to anyone thinking of trying a dinner cruise in AMS!

“Great way to see the city”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

On our recent trip to Amsterdam, we reserved the dinner cruise for our first night in town. Great idea! The cruise is a perfect way to have dinner and get oriented. The boat is cool. The cruise is quiet (no constant tour chatter). The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is quite good. If we make it back to Amsterdam, we'll do this one again!

“Romantic Ride”
Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Just finished havin a wonderful night at Amsterdam Jewel with Captain and a server. The boat is a small old beautifully restored canal boat that held approximately 30 people. The food is from a local restaraunt on one of the canals that you order when you sit down on the boat. They then stop by and pick up the first course then later stop by and pick up the rest of the meal so it was hot and fresh. Great concept. The food presentation was terrific and very tasty. The wine selection was as good as any good restaurant.

There is no tour commentary though they are happy to answer any questions. We found this to be very romabtic and high quality experience. A little pricey but worth it. Do reserve early as they do sell out weekends.

“Exceptional canal cruise with great dinner and service”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We just got back from the dinner cruise this evening. Our first thoughts were how the cruse lived up to expectations at all levels: food quality, service, tour, and ambiance. Theo, the captain, and Maria, the server, were committed to ensuring all the participants had a great time. The food and wine was as would be found at any very good restaurant. The tour, with commentary by Theo, was entertaining and informative. So often one is disappointed by 'special' events, especially those targeting tourists, but that was definitely NOT the case here. Next time we are in Amsterdam, we will be doing it again!

“Fantastic, romantic dinner cruise”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

My husband booked this evening cruise as a surprise for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We spent 3 hours slowly meandering the canals of Amsterdam, seeing the sights from the 100 year old canal boat. This was the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. We had a choice of fantastic gourmet food served by very attentive crew which was picked up from a canal side restaurant at intervals during the cruise. This meant that the food was served fresh and hot. Although there were 8 people in the stern of the boat each couple had their own private table with a window view of the canal so it felt like an intimate dinner. Drinks from the bar were reasonably priced and we had a glass of champagne, finger food, and coffee included in the "Dinner Cruise Deluxe". The Captain was excellent, unobtrusive but helpful and pointing out the main sights.. especially the Skinny bridge and its custom of sharing a kiss from the time the bow of the boat goes under the bridge until the stern passes through! The 3 hours went by too quickly. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone. However it would be difficult to access it if not fully mobile.
