“Different dining in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is not one to be missed, located in northern amsterdam (you can get the free ferry across from the station, and then cycle - or get a cab all the way), it is in an industrial area and is essentially a huge almost 'pop up style' restaurant in a large warehouse.

The environment is modern and edgy with industrial items and cars mixed in with the restaurant theme, it feels lively and relaxed inside. The service was brilliant, really friendly, especially talking us through the dutch menu - they offer a fixed price menu from which there is lots of variety.

The food is absolutely top notch - and great value for money. We had a lovely evening and I would recommend this to people wanting to go somewhere a bit different in amsterdam. Due to its' size it would be a good location for big groups, but worked well for us the two of us as well.

We cycled across from the centre and that added to the experience and gave us a bit more of a feel for the surroundings!

“Very good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

In an industrial hal you get very good food for a small price. Its always a surprise what they have on the menu because one of the five choiches is changing every week. For everyone a choiche. Beautiful view on the Y . Lays in a part of amsterdam were you don't find tourist's and can be a bit of searching.

“An culinary experience that'll surprise you in so many ways.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

Tough to describe this place, but I'll have a go anyway: dockyard warehouse come car garage come open-kitchen industrial space with some creative decorative features like glass-milk bottle chandelier and a brick bar come an inside-out concept and a massive open kitchen/dining concept that resembles a factory refectory serving great french food with flair. Very creative concept that seats hundreds yet doesn't compromise on fresh produce and an organic menu that's divided into 3 sections (starters/mains/deserts) compromising a dozen or so options and a comprehensive wine list. The gamba risotto nero was a perfect starter, flavoursome, faultless and alongside the calamari, it represents a strong vision coming from a competent chef. My main was composed of a medium black angus with potato gratin and green pees in a red wine sauce, delightful in every way. As for the deserts, the chocolate moelleux with banana ice cream was a revelation and what's not to love with our second picking, a swan shaped cream puff desert with fresh strawberry in a raspberry coulis. The location, the concept and the overall dining experience make this place very unique.

“Never disappoints”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

Based in a large building by the Amsterdam docks this is a restaurant that has learnt how to consistently offer good (value) food in a nice informal setting for a relatively large number of people. Yet you feel in your own space and not amongst the masses with good service and a nice payable wine list that mirrors the food. Doesn't disappoint and I've eaten there a few times in last few years.

“Exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

After a horrible boat tour on Sunday we went to what looked like an old warehouse on the waterfront. It was as we were back in NYC in Greenwich Village. The food was superb, atmosphere amazing. A spot you have to visit when in Amsterdam
