Me and my wife (both foodies, originally from India) were visiting Amsterdam from New York and reluctantly walked into an Indian restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We had one the best Indian meals outside of India. Except for the biryani (which I recommend passing) everything else was as good as what we get in an Indian Restaurant in India and way better than most Indian restaurants in the US. We ordered the mix appetizer which came with tandoori chicken wings, sheekh kebab, chicken tikka and butter fly shrimp. Everything was extremely flavorful. Mr Singh the owner came and chatted with us and gave us very good recommendations for the main course. We had the lamb saag and dal tarka along with a paratha. The daal and lamb were typical of what you would get in a Dhabha in India and was very good. We also ordered the biryani, which was the only dish of the evening we did not like. We followed the meal with dessert (kheer wth kulfi) which again was excellent. Overall a great experience and we will definitely go back a couple more times before we head back home.
