Description: At Restaurant Daalder we rather cook high end food for people who simply love food, than serving high end food to people who simply can afford it... So our concept is simple: Michelin Star food for a more than reasonable price...We do not carry an extensive á la carte menu at Daalder, but we serve our guests a fantastic 4- to 7 course surprise menu. You simply choose how many courses you want to eat, lean back and leave the rest to our Chef. Usually the surprise menu exceeds the expectation of our guests, but if there are any special dietary needs, do let us know? We are happy to adjust the menu, anywhere possible. Team Daalder

“Amazing meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

We went to Daalder on the recommend of the owner of the B and B we stayed at in Amsterdam. The way this place works is you tell the server if you have any allergies and then choose anywhere between 3 and 7 courses and then the chef prepares you an incredible meal! We started out with some smoked almonds and home-made hummus and then had a tasty amuse bouche - and these weren't even part of our three course meal! The first course was a ceviche sea bass which was heavenly - tender and tasty. This was followed by slices of beef with pureed broccoli - and it was one of the tastiest beef dishes I have had - lightly cooked, wonderfully seasoned. Finally, we had there was a mango dessert (three different kinds of mangos) that included little meringues, other fruit and curiously fantastic basil ice cream! This was by far the best meal we had in Amsterdam. Outstanding service and amazing food - a great way to spend three hours!

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

We showed here on a Saturday night without reservations. We came to Daalder because it was close to The Eelhouse, a B&B where we were staying. Of course, every table was full but we we were warmly greeted by the bartender who said we were welcome to wait at the bar. Since we weren't in any great hurry, we decided to wait. Almost as soon as we sat down, we were given a large bowl of almonds and a little later a complimentary dish of breadsticks with dip were brought. The bartender answered any questions that we had about the meal. The choice was 3,4 or 5 course meals. It was about a hour before a table opened up but time passed quickly. We decided on the 3 course meal since we had already munched at the bar. The food was delicious and we weren't hurried at all to get done. If you want a fancy restaurant with beautiful decor, this might not be the place for you but if good food and service is what you want then Daalder is the place to go.

“Would highly recommend.”

My boyfriend and I went to visit Daalder on a Friday for lunch. It was truly a great experience! We had the 3 course Chefs menu and each course was a small work of art and a true taste sensation. Probably the best lunch I have ever had! We had lunch at their beautiful terrace in the sun but the inside looks amazing too. The staff is very friendly and make you feel at home. Just love the place. Wish it was closer to home because I would be there every day! Of all the restaurants we have visited in Amsterdam, this was by far the best. Would highly recommend.

“Very Good Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

My wife and I had a very nice meal here! This was my first experience at a multi-course menu restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. I loved the hummus and roasted almonds that start the evening before any of your courses arrive; super tasty! My wife is pregnant and they went the extra mile to be sure that she could eat all the portions, and that was very thoughtful. The service was really friendly, helpful, and prompt. We did the six course menu because it included the pork belly, which we really wanted to try. The salads were not my favorite courses (though, certainly not bad), but all of the meat portions (chicken, steak, pork) and the dessert were really good and cooked to perfection! It cost 57 Euro per person for this meal, but it was well worth it. Be sure to make a reservation to avoid waiting a long time for a table!
