I loved my stay in Amsterdam at Pr. Irenestraat. Its one of the best hotels i have stayed in my life. Very good ambiance, very friendly staffs, easy accessible to anywhere around Amsterdam and Schipol. I was looking forward to stay few more days after spending 2 days of holidays as it was very pleasant staying in Citizen M. I strongly recommend this hotel to all the members who are looking forward for a stay in Amsterdam. Rooms are excellent with all modern facilities. A couple can enjoy every moment staying in this Hotel.

We were in Amsterdam close to Queen's Day and all of the hotels near the center of Amsterdam were priced sky-high, so we chose this one close to the airport. Never stayed in anything like it! All staff were very young and hip but very friendly and helpful. Room was literally the width that a bed is long, but it was so well planned that it really lacked nothing. Might get claustrophobic to stay there for a long period, but for a couple of nights it was great. New, clean, great features and mood lighting - fun!

I stayed at CitizenM, Amsterdam City for 1 night in April on Business with the offices that I was visiting nearby. Accessing the hotel is very easy from the Airport with a 6 minute train journey that takes you to Amsterdam Zuid, with trains running every 5 minutes or so. If you want a hotel conveniently located for central Amsterdam then would recommend looking at others, although it is doable by the tram which passes outside the hotel.

Check in is an automated process at a terminal, with staff on hand to help you if required. Upon checking in your get your key for the room. Having read the reviews of the hotel, I had read about the layout of the rooms and therefore wasn't surprised, however if you were not aware of the lack of separate bathroom then you may be in for a shock (the shower and toilet are in there own cylinder enclosures within the main body of the room).

The room itself is a comfortable size with effective use made of the space within the room. The room is dominated by the large bed by the window which fills the end of the room from wall to wall with the concept being that you can decide which way round you wish to sleep - a very innovative approach to allowing you to decide how you wish to sleep. Personally, noting the position of the TV on the wall and also the phone / power sockets etc there was only one option.

Once you work out the one controller approach for the room, it is easy to use. There is a good amount of channels, including English ones, as well as free on demand access to movies and music as well. There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel which you can use as well as access to iMac's in the lobby area.

Evening meal options are available, but limited, which is the reason that I have only given 4 stars overall. The breakfast offering is reasonable (€10?) and offers all you can eat continental breakfast.

Checking out is again an automated procedure with the terminals which reduces delays in the hotel.

Overall a very good hotel which is well located for the area around Amsterdam Zuid with friendly staff and welcoming feel to the hotel. Would stay again if needed to visit the same area.

Very practical choice if you need to stay in the vicinity of the Schiphol Airport. Getting to the city is also easy enough (from the airport railway station). The hotel building does not look much from the outside, but has an arty interior and lounge full of nice chairs. The rooms are all the same - small but smart. Half of the room is occupied by a bed (very comfortable). The other half is shower and toilet cabins, which need stay open for to you get to the bed (it is not as bad as it sounds, honestly). A room also has a remote control for blinds, tv, colour and brightness lights, etc., but does not have a fridge, or tea cattle or a bar (does have a safe).

Breakfast food choice is limited but bountiful. Evening food is more of a snack variety, much of which you would need to microwave yourself. If you need to eat in the area there are plenty of restaurants in the airport building.

Check-in and check-out are automatic - using terminals in the the lobby. There is always a friendly member near them if you need some help. Cafe staff is also very attentive and helpful.

I visited the citizenM while travelling for business with by co-workers, we choose that particular hotel because it is very close to the WTC in Amsterdam.

We all were very pleased with the hotel`s facilities and the employee hospitality.

One thing i could mention that needed to be improved was that the breakfast seemed to be poorer than the one i had to other hotels in the same category (for example there was no ham but plenty of cheese).

Overall very good experience.

Room Tip: All rooms seem the same.. I had a garden room view (basically looking at the back of the hotel)
