We had the Farmers omelette here last week and it was a taste sensation... Beautifully presented and served by a lovely chap who was friendly and helpful. The caffee itself is light, airy and tastefully decorated.

We had the French breakfast here on 09/04/13. It was superb. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and tangy. The 3 types of bread we had were beautiful and the jam is home made and startlingly good. The English breakfast looked equally good - a bacon wrapped sausage, stacked in layers with bread, fried egg & dressed salad. Our eldest had this & found it really tasty. Youngest was happy with the large croissants and milky English breakfast tea they supplied too. Would recommend their breakfast to anyone.

The restaurant is very well localized, near the central station and easy to find. The atmosphere is calm and cozy. The food is good and service is quick and nice. Loved the decoration modernist and at the same time rustic.

Dwaze Zaken ("Silly Things" in Dutch) is so perfectly located that you're almost certain it's going to be one of those places that takes advantage of tourists who don't know where else to turn. Instead, it's a mecca for anyone who enjoys really good food, very reasonable prices, and the chance to make conversation with whoever ends up sharing one of the long-ish, communal tables. Lots of young people in couples and small groups but also highly recommended for the lone business traveller who wants to explore beyond the restaurant in the hotel. The special is highly recommended -- generous servings of tasty fare, dessert included.

We grabbed breakfast here on our way to Central Station at the end of our trip. The cafe is spacious and bright, with a variety of seating options from two-person tables and bar stools to large group (or communal) tables. Food was good and fresh, and the large windows onto a main street offered great people-watching. Free wifi as well, if you're looking for a cafe to work in while in central Amsterdam this would probably be a great choice.
