Description: Situated on the stunning, seventeenth-century UNESCO World Heritage Singelgracht, SUSHISAMBA Amsterdam brings the culture and cuisine of Japan, Brazil and Peru canal-side. Open in every sense of the word, from its exposed kitchen to the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows, SUSHISAMBA Amsterdam offers an inviting open air dining experience during warmer months, and a warm and welcoming escape during cooler climates. Our colorful, high energy sushi bar beats at the centre of the space, with Amsterdam’s own take on our iconic SUSHISAMBA Orange Tree that reflects our passion for dining al fresco and nature-influenced design.

One of the best dinners l've enjoyed ever in my gourmet life. Service is excellent and atmosphere at the Gracht is fantastic (sat in the outdoor area of the restaurant). We had perfectly spiced potatoe salad, crunchy though marinated shrimp, super tender beef and calamari. Desser was offered to us as a surprise gift from the waiter! Will definitely go there again - maybe in one of their other branches in London, NY!

We visited Sushisamba on a Saturday night. We are US expats living in Amsterdam and the service in Europe and specifically Amsterdam is not the same as service n the US. That being said this was the worst service we experienced in over 3 years living in Amsterdam. We arrived and our table was ready, we were seated and ordered water (still and gas) along with 5 Hendrick's and Tonics. After waiting more than 25 minutes we asked our waiter where the drinks were. He looked puzzled like what drinks? So turns out he forgot to order our drinks. After asking he ordered them and we got them about 10 minutes later (he promised 2 minutes) but never apologized or said anything about the error. Then we ordered a round of appetizers and that went fine but when we ordered our first round of sushi he got the order wrong and we did get what asked for. When ordered our next round it confirmed that he had ordered the wrong item. Then we ordered more food and this time he substituted ribeye on as stick instead of the right steak. Again no comment, no apology. finally talked to the Manager who refunded our drinks that were late but not the incorrect menu items. Better than nothing but a big disappointment when you drop nearly 300 euros on dinner we really expect more. The food was very good but We will never go back. There are so many great places in Amsterdam that I could not get past the service issues.

I've been to the one in Miami and NYC and I was surprised to see it in Amsterdam during our visit in December. Restaurant had been just opened 3 months ago. Did not have a reservation so we were sat next to sushi bar. Restaurant was busy. It was a good experience, food is a mix of Brasilian, Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. This is not traditional cuisines but a fusion of all 3. Some flavours are not the same, and is not the same presentations but that's what we liked, something different to try. Sushi was the best of all the dishes we tried. We tried a mix of all three. Good service, waitress was attentive, dishes came out at right time. Drinks were also very good. I tried the passion fruit gin based drink, whenever I have 2 of the same is because it's very good. Enjoy the experience. Expensive bill though.
