This boatel is very well located and reasonably priced. Being a boat sound travels easily therefore a good set of earplugs is recommended. The breakfast is quite good for a hostel, you can do laundry here, and the showers have nice hot water. Staff are very friendly, thank you Fleur for your hospitality.

The wifi comes and goes, I would not rely on having a good connection here.

Location as mentioned is quite good. It is roughly 5 minutes by bicycle to centraal and the main strip, or 15 minutes by foot.

The rooms are very small and Spartan, but the beds and linens are clean and reasonably comfortable.

First of all I need to say that we are not a backpacker type and the boat was booked only because of the ratio price/rating (the accommodation in Amsterdam is the most expensive I have ever seen). That is why my review is not relevant for people who are looking for such experience.
We arrived at around 20:30 and there was nobody to meet us (although it was written that the check-in is till 22:00). They had left the keys for us in an envelop at the reception. We thought that we are privileged as we were given the only room on the deck - it is almost twice wider than the rest. But it was until we entered the room and we saw that the ceiling is leaking on the upper bed- so half of the mattress was wet. We tried to call the staff, but no one answered on any of the three phones provided (at the reception, booking.com and Google). As we were not prepared that this is a hostel (a bit stupid of us), we had no towels. And as there was nobody we can ask for, we couldn't neither shower, nor even wash our hands. So, I had to sleep on the wet mattress and you can imagine that it was not a nice experience. The positive thing is that they at least reduced the price for the first night and moved us to a different room. It was on the level of the water and the smell from the toilets was not good. As the other guests say, it is very noisy as you hear all the noises through the walls. The toilets are so small that I really do not know how a bigger person will be able to use them. I cannot say anything positive about the cleanliness- everything is quite old and it looks badly maintained and not cleaned regularly.
The breakfast is really basic, but at least it is available.
The positive things- the view from the rooms that face the bay is really nice. The boat is located near the central station and within walking distance to the city center, there is renting bike station nearby. Not many restaurants in the area and no vending machine available on the boat (although written so on booking.com), so make sure you have at least drinking water with you.
All in all not the best experience, but maybe this is the standard in AMS.

I booked this trip as part of my honeymoon and we wanted to do something different and well, I knew this wasn't going to be a 5 star experience but I was left disappointed.

Check in was easy, due to our flight time there was no-one on the desk but received a door code and was told my envelope with key would be in the reception. We paid more than we were quoted on through booking.com, not entirely sure why.

Breakfast was basic (granola, bread, spreads) and included in the price, which was a nice touch. Mini fridge and microwave available to use for guests, no access to kitchen.

Location was good, handy for proximity to Centraal Station and the trams, bit out of the way of the city hubbub but in hindsight would been just as well staying in a central hotel due to the noise on the boat.

Cabin was small with double bunks but I expected this and was fairly happy with the room, clean, tidy. Wouldn't be suitable for really tall people or people with mobility issues. Sink was a lifesaver when I couldn't face the showers!

The parts that left me feeling ripped off and ready to go home:

The noise, no soundproofing at all so you can hear absolutely everything, this included and was not limited to: noise on the common area deck, the sliding entry door getting slammed, cabin doors getting slammed, conversations late at night from inconsiderate guests inviting people onto the boat that were not paying guests. I had to buy earplugs to get a decent nights sleep.

No night porter, so the owners/management of this boat have no idea how free and relaxed things can get. People showering at 2am?! Ridiculously inconsiderate and unfair in such a small proximity.

Toilets and showers that stink and need a good, daily scrub with some bleach/cleaning products (or leave some available for guests to make the decision for themselves) I would recommend flip flops for the showers.

Amicitia has the potential to be a wonderful little hub in Amsterdam but it needs a lot of work to create a smoother guest experience, seems like the management are not present but happy to take your money for a sub standard experience.

This is a good hotel to stay having a low budget.
It's very well located to easly visit the center of Amsterdam by feet or bus, the breakfast is great and the staff are nice (but can't help with directions).
Although, the bathrooms are small and not well cleaned.
After all, it is not a bad option.

The place is ok. Really, nothing special, but the location is grate. Near the station and close to every where. Tiolets and shower rooms are tragic. A bit of refurbishment will be grate. Rest im hapoy for the price. Have really nice view from mu room.
