“Lovely and romantic”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Bussia is a wonderful restaurant. Bussia is the best Italian in Amsterdam and the service is excellent. I had a nice dinner with my boyfriend. really at good restaurant with good food.
Bussia has a very cosy atmosphere. Lovely and romantic. The wine and food of Northern Italy was artfully presented and the service was exceptional. we especially loved the dessert
I recommend this restaurant highly.

Very friendly staff. Very attentive and gave us advice on where to go out after which was appreciated. Really nice unusual food. Well presented and good attention to detail. Great location. Don't have any negatives! Great!

“Outstanding Italian Cooking”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Bussia is a wonderful restaurant. Set in a quaint old building near prinsengracht canal in Jordaan, it is cosy and well located to catch the evening buzz of Amsterdam. The food is exceptional - superbly presented dishes bursting with flavour and the kind of attention to detail you expect from far grander locations. We had the four course set menu plus a bottle of wine for about 150 euros (for two).

The amuse bouche was a beetroot gazpacho, followed by salmon mousse, octopus pasta, pork and a strawberry tart. Each course was accompanied by various sides, nibbles and sauces so you were constantly being introduced to new flavours and textures. Every course was delicious and just enough to fill you up.

The atmosphere is lovely. Bussia has a homely feel and the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. In a city packed with good restaurants this stands head and shoulders above the other places we tried. Well worth a visit - just make sure you book several days in advance!

“Just go!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

This place buzzes with energy and clearly attracts Amsterdam's foodie crowd. You can go for a tasting menu or order a la carte. We went a la carte and enjoyed excellent pasta with veal followed by monkfish. The kitchen is a bit slow, so if you go for the six course tasting menu you might be in for a bit of a wait. The house wines that they sell by the glass or bottle are carefully selected and reasonably priced. Can't think of a reason to dislike such an honest eating house.

“Italian cuisine at its best”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

This is the best Italian in Amsterdam and the service is excellent. Don't miss it if you can afford it. Take the 5 course menu of the day (6 may be too much) with the wine offer (half glasses is enough) and enjoy every minute of it. The concept is extraordinary. If you get a table facing the kitchen you will enjoy to watch the team (not only Italians) work in the kitchen.
