Blessed with blue skies and light winds, we enjoyed a morning exploring the canals around a small village in the outskirts of Amsterdam.
Much laughter at how 'El Capitain' was steering the ship.
Peace and quiet.
And a lovely lunch.
What more could you wish for?
Except maybe some mosquito repellent!

We had the best time exploring the Dutch countryside on its waterways in the north of Amsterdam. Majel was a great guide and everything was perfectly planned and prepared. Even when it rained a bit we had cover during our lunch. She is very knowledgable about the Dutch history and nature and answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend this trip.
The canoe is fun, the proximity to Amsterdam is unbeatable. Learning about the nature reserve and the wetlands and paddling in the tiny village canals was amazing.
If you are lucky you will see many birds and of course the cows!
Majel is enthusiastic and fun, it definitely rubs off on you. You won't be able to help get excited about the wetlands.
We took this tour 7 years ago and loved it so much that we had to do it again! We enjoyed our second time just as much as the first!! Majel is an excellent host and tour guide, with lots of information about the local environment. Take the tour, you'll be very happy you did!
We loved weaving through the little canals and duckung our heads to avoid the bridges! Our day was q little cold and included some showers, but we still had a great time. Our guide was warm and informative. She also provided us with ponchos.
