It's a must to visit , kids get free entrance . Modern art was our favorite as grandson ( 11 years old ) paints abstract paintings .

We stayed here for eight days, with three major and a fourth, minor museum within ten minutes walk from hotel. All these museums lie in a park-like setting. We heard an extremely talented, classical quartet under the Rijksmuseum tunnel, which has fabulous acoustics, and admired outdoor statues as they were erected. Big supermarket lies across the green. Quiet at night, less crowded feel than Centrum, but one still has to watch for bicycles.

In Great Britain we are used to all the big museums having free entry, so if you are planning to visit the museums here be prepared for an exensive trip. Handily, most of the main museums in Amsterdam are located close by.

Here are the main Amsterdam museums such as Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Moco Museum. The neighborhood itself is also interesting, with many interesting buildings. There are also several diamond stores, as well as the Diamond Museum that I do not recommend.
It's good to spend one whole day for this neighborhood and museum it.

We stayed very near the Marriott at Hotel Roemer, which allowed us to walk to so many places within 20 minutes. Pubs, Cafes, Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Great shopping literally everywhere. 3 minute walk to the museums. Highly recommend.
