I stayed at this hotel as a part of my European tour. The room was clean, well furnished and overall very good. The staff were friendly, and extremely helpful when I had an issue with my room key. The only issue was this hotel was slightly out of the city center. However, there is a tram station right across the road which is about a 15 minute journey from the center. I would stay here again.

As others have mentioned, the hotel is clean and comfortable. Our triple had two real beds and plenty of room. The breakfast was great. However, we felt like we were staying in a nice hotel in our hometown in the U.S. If we had been dropped here blindfolded we never would have guessed what country we were in. This is because the hotel is quite far from the center of Amsterdam, where most visitors want to spend their time. Although the staff said the tram ride to the city center was 10-15 minutes, it took a good 1/2 hour to get to the outer part of the center. After one night, we moved to a nice little hotel one block from the heart of the city and were able to walk to all of the famous sights, walk back to the hotel to rest, and walk out for more adventures.

We stayed here last weekend and on checking in the receptionist was friendly and very helpful we were even upgraded to spacious room. The rooms and beds were extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff serving during breakfast were friendly and went out of their way to offer assistance. We have stayed in many hotels in different countries and although the decor was a little tired the atmosphere made up for it. Thank you Blue Square for making us feel so welcome.

Room Tip: We had a corner room that was very spacious

This time i drove from london took about 6hrs inc eurotunnel and it was relaxing too.
We arrived at check-in ,and slight confusing about our rooms my wife always have a bath with room ,this occasion they said all baths with rooms are all booked and all thats left were showers, now after driving 6hrs tired i was not in the mood for this, anyway after talking to a senior checkin staff i soon got what i booked 6 months ago.
if you are a light sleeper like me do not book room 30 on ground flr because outside my room door is the entry/exit door to lobby ,so you can imagine the banging of door in the early hrs.
Plus points room had enough room for 4 people ,and it was just me and wife ,very clean and comfy beds, buffet.breakfast excellant ,evening meal as well ,Michael and food staff very friendly and helpfull and the young lady from suriname,i would say second time here was most enjoyable ,The dutch people must be the most friendliest people on the planet.

Room Tip: aRRIVE EARLY AFTER 12pm to get your choice of room

Hotel was well managed, update, very clean, and had a great and helpful staff. I became sick during our trip. The staff was more than helpful on letting me know clinics and hospitals near by.. The woman at the front desk even offered to have someone go get a prescription filled for me. Beds were extremely comfortable. We were in a triple room, which usually means someone gets jipped on a "real" bed, not here! We were all provided with very comfortable double beds. Hot breakfast was provided as part of the package. The location is not ideal, it's a little bit farther from the city, and we were advised the neighborhood is not great, but knowing all that up front made it fine. And the trolley stop from the center of the city is only two blocks away!

Room Tip: First floor rooms were great, there is a very quiet corridor on the left of the building from main r...

This hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful! This is a good hotel for family. The location was great for us close enough to downtown and far enough from loud, crowded areas. There are a few restaurants in the areas, The Chicago Ribs place is across the street that was a good place to eat without the hassle of taking a drive with the kids.

In July 2013 i spent 8 days there with my wife and my mother. Beds were comfortable but mine was a little soft. Staff were very friendly and helpfull, which appears to be the norm in Amsterdam. There is an excellent breakfast buffet, and you will save if you book it when you book the room. A word of warning, there are a lot of contiki tours coming through here, so it pays to get to breakfast early before the place fills up. The tram stops right outside, and you can buy up to a 4 day GVB transport card at the front desk. We did make use of the Toetenchamon restaurant accross the road and Ada restarant on the water behind the hotel and were very satisfied with food on both occassions at a fair price. My only real criticism of the hotel was the lack of a bar fridge in the rooms, but you can store medication in the fridge behind the front desk. The hotel is a 20 min tram ride from the city centre, but with an excellent tram service on hand that was not much of an obstacle. If you tend to stay out late, the night busses run hourly, and you can catch any gvb bus to Centraal Station after 1h00 and then take bus 352 from there back to the hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed onn first floor facing the water and loved it, quiet with a decent view.
