This was a great find. The service and food were excellent and the staff very knowledgeable about the food and the wines. I would recommend the shared starter, it is a real treat. We had planned to have the shared dessert too however did not manage to get that far. I think that it may be best to book as it was very busy when we were there. There is only one table with a canal view, which we were lucky enought to get, however all the tables were nicely spread out and the restaurant had a nice ambiance so I think that any would do. Definately recommend, a lovely dining experience.

It is always much appreciated when a restaurant honors a request as Greetje did, this time for a canal view table, which was charming. Service was friendly and efficient. Recommended is the Bountiful Beginning, a sampler of all the appetizers on the menu--our favorite was the duck terrine on sweet Dutch bread; the two of us could have been happy with more of that, but everything else was very good as well. For mains the organic pig was good--it was nicely done pork slices with crispy fries and carrots in a flavorful sauce. The brill fish dish was OK, not remarkable. For dessert the licorice creme brulee was very good, and the accompanying licorice ice cream was outstanding--rich, creamy, and unique. Recommended

Quite cosy but slow but kind and helpful service.
A lot of tourists and the cod was tasteless, unfortunately.
A little off the beaten track

Having had Dutch roommates in the distant past I truly believed that the expression 'good Dutch food' was an oxymoron. Greetje singlehandedly changed this misimpression. That there is a lot of love for the cuisine is evident from a quick read of the menu. That there is true passion becomes evident a bit later on when the food is served. Excellent service, personal attention from Rene, the owner, for all the guests. The organic lamb was superb, and if you order the duck be warned that it may contain birdshot.

Greetje is a wonderful quaint restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Not a lot of the starters were to my taste but I had the beef pastrami from the specials and it was melt in the mouth. The pork dish for my main was big but it needed some greens.
Would go again.
