“Very good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

I have to agree with the other reviewers. This restaurant is small and charming, has excellent food and good service. Also the price is a pleasant surprise. For those not familiar with the centre of Amsterdam, it might be a bit challenging to find, but Google Maps can get you there with no problem. I was with 3 others and everyone was very enthusiastic with the Sichuan Menu for four which we ordered. There was more than enough good and plenty of variety. Everything was fresh and very flavourful. The only warning is for people who don't like fresh coriander. It's in practically everything. I love it, but some people do not.

“Superb food, and fast service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

We went here based on the reviews we found on tripadvisor, and we weren't let down!

We just went with one of the set meals for ~42 euros for two people, the food was brilliant. Service was incredibly quick, we were never left waiting for our food.

Highly recommended.

“Lovely and copious, good value and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

While wondering around Amsterdam and tossing up ideas about what to eat, we came across this place and my first adventure with Tiben cooking. The restaurant is well placed and offering a huge choice including a number of good value deals from one to groups. Service is polite and rapid, the restaurant decorated in theme and clean, and the food is fantastic and copious. Next time back to Amsterdam I'll definitely eat here again!

“exotic eating experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Me and some friends met up here after having read the reviews on this site and wanted to experience an authentic tibetan after having a previous failed attempt at one in Lisbon. We did make a reservation but on a Friday night it seems there were a few spare places vacant around 7:30. There were lots of pictures of the dalai lama around to set the mood. We chose from the fixed menus so that we could sample many things rather than opting for a main dish, which was an excellent choice. Two of us chose the vegetarian fixed meal option and the other selected one of the meat fixed menus. There wasn't beer on tap but a "pint" = 500ml can (4 euro) .. sufficient but could have been better. The starter was a soup which was a bit tasteless to be honest without heaving a dollop of sambal in the middle. Then some momo's, which were exquisite. Then the 3 dish main which was very tasty (with shared bowl of rice between the 3 of us) - spicy veg, tofu and red kidney bean masala. The verdict on the meat menu was pretty good (beef and chicken dishes) although apparently the vegetarian tasted better. Jasmin tea or Coffee to end (included). Good value for money for the area. The staff were functional but not the greatest hosts or conversationalists. I guess the location (right bang in the red light district) means you don't have to push out the boat in terms of customer care. There was no towel in the bathroom to dry you hands. All in all very good apart from the soup.

“An amazing meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

We went for our first Tibetan meal and were guided by the staff speaking excellent English. It was simply wonderful - beautiful unusual tastes and beware of the chili deep it's seriously hot (for me fantastic). Very relaxed atmosphere. Extremely busy too - we got there early about 6.30 and by 7, they were turning people away as their waiting list was full! I guess compared to the UK, it was expensive but that's the norm in the Netherlands now.

If it's your first time - like us, just be guided by the staff - I'm sure you will have a great meal.
