I have been her twice now. It is a very nice place with good food. The menu is some what limited, but the quuality is very good. Main courses will be entrecote, lobster or a combination of both (surf 'n turf). Specially the lobster is recommended. They have a good selection of beers. On a sunny day you can eat outside, right at the harbour with distant views on the Ijjselmeer. The restaurant is located in IJburg, the newest Amsterdam suburb and can easily be accessed by bike, car of public transport.

We always visit this restaurant for its lobster. The location is perfect in the new area of Amsterdam (IJburg). Its a good location for a lunch or a dinner. From this location you can travel easy by a boat that brings you to Pampus Island or Muiden castle.
The atmosphere is very pleasant. Good for families or to gather with friends. Prices are at a very reasonable level.

We visited this restaurant with my colleagues after a power boat ride on the IJ. The ambience was extremely welcoming and although it looked small, the restaurant could easily house a large party. The bar was well stocked with a large range of wines and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We had a three course vegetarian dinner with a pastry and a mushroom based sauce as the entree, ravioli with fresh vegetables as the main course and a cheese cake as dessert. The portions were quite filling. The food was well prepared and the ingredients were very fresh as well. The service was excellent and the people at the restaurant were extremely welcoming and polite. It was pouring on the day we were at the NAP, otherwise, if the weather is good one could also sit outside right next to the quai and enjoy both the food and the wonderful view around. I believe there is also a DJ night on Fridays, which could appeal to younger people. Overall, a very nice and relaxing place for a few drinks or even for supper with family and friends.

We visited this modern restaurant on IJburg for diner. The diner card offers a limited but very good quality of food, The service is very friendly, relaxed but also efficient. We had a great evening dining with our neighbours here. The pommes frites are really excellent!
In terms of price/quality we think this restaurant is the place to be in Amsterdam! The location in a new suburb is somewhat remote but worth the short travel. The location is also very nice: a small Marina, nice terrace. So NAP is Not just Another Place to go!

I recently discovered this place when I went to go boating one day from the small but cute marina in Amsterdam's newest and modern nautical neighborhood called Ijburg. The cafe is a modern loungy type place on the inside and has a lovely and large terrace right on the marina quay. The menu is varied and quite appealing and the prices are pretty average for Amsterdam. On Friday evenings I was told they have a live jazz band followed by a DJ for the rest of the evening. I was there very early AM before going boating and later had lunch when we returned to the marina. I had a very tasty omelet and the bread they serve is really special and tasty. The staff is super friendly and accommodating which is not always the case in the restaurants and cafes in the center.

This place is noteworthy in its own right but I think a place like this should be more known amongst tourists who may want to hang out where friendly locals hang out as this is primarily a locals hangout. If you want to experience the feel of a place with friendly, happy-go-lucky, probably younger (25 - 45) Amsterdammers, then this is an ideal place. And it gets you, the tourist, into a very interesting part of the city - the newly created Ijburg - which few tourists bother to explore.

Its easy to get there - take the quick tram 26 from Central Station to the last stop. From there its a few minutes walking to the marina and NAP.
