“Amsterdam Excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2008

We stayed at the Parkzijde for 5 nights in March 2008 and had a wonderful stay. Our hosts (Martijne and Bernard) were very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. The accommodation was beautifully decorated - we chose the large Garden Room which included an lovely en-suite bathroom, with bath and shower and a small conservatory overlooking the rear garden where Martijne brought us breakfast in the morning. The bed was probably the most comfortable one we have come across in any hotel or B&B. The room also came with a laptop with internet connection, large screen TV, air conditioning / heating and was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The house overlooks the Oosterpark and had tram stops within 3 minutes walk which provided direct links to the City Centre tram 9), Museum Square (tram 3) and Leidseplein (tram 7). All these destinations were approx 10 - 15 minutes ride away. We were sorry to leave after our 5-days and would recommend the accommodation to anyone wanting quality, a warm welcome and something away from the city centre but within easy reach of all major attractions and sights.

You find Parkzijde in front of the beautiful Oosterpark, just outside the busy city-center. The elegant house (1892) still remains conserved in its original style.
